This 1978 HZ Holden ‘Sandman’ panel van is a delight to work on. In the video you can see the striping done by Frontline Autographics & Accessories (0412 224 076).
The Sandman was originally a 308 4sp with a10bolt diff. The original motor had been replaced with a period correct 308 and bored and stroked to 355 with Scat crank and rods. High performance cam shaft, VN heads with Fast fuel injection installed. TCI super street fighter transmission with a high stall convertor. the 10 bolt diff has been fully rebuild.
The original yellow needle gauges were checked over to make sure everything works as it should. New seat foams and covers, new carpets, dash pad.
The shell was put on a rotisserie and the underside prepared and painted. Everything on the car is either new or been reconditioned. it is a stunning vehicle.
This set of photos highlighting the work carried out show how our expert electrical wiring technician installed a Vintage Air unit and a FAST fuel injection system.
FAST Fuel Injection is being used. The motor is a 308 bored and stroked, car 355 VN Heads, all the wiring has been hidden under the manifold. The car has been fully rebuilt with everything brand new in our workshop.
