Laser Blasting
Also known as laser ablation, laser technology distributes thousands of focused laser pulses per second onto contamination layers. The laser light absorbs the contaminants, changes the state to a gas, and captures it — making it an ideal way of removing contaminants without damaging the substrate.
Laser cleaning is a much safer method than sandblasting cleaning, as it only needs goggles. Also, since laser cleaning is so precise, other processing methods/manufacturing processes can be done in the same proximity.

What Makes Our Workshop Different
At Cruisin Automotive, we do more than turn spanners. Every job that rolls into our Malaga workshop is treated like it matters, whether it’s a quick steering tweak or a full bare-metal rebuild. What makes us different is simple. We do it all in-house, and we do it with tradesmen who live and breathe custom cars.
You’re not running between three different workshops trying to coordinate jobs. You’re dealing with one team that knows the whole car, start to finish. Mechanical, electrical, paint, fabrication and trim, all under one roof, with all the experience needed to get the job done properly.
We’re also not shy about turning away work that doesn’t suit our shop. If we take it on, it’s because we know we can do it right.
Servicing Hot Rods, Muscle Cars and Vintage Customs
Anyone who owns a hot rod or vintage custom knows standard mechanics often won’t touch them, or worse, they give it a go without understanding what they’re working on. That’s not how we operate.
We know these cars have quirks. Nothing is off-the-shelf, and not every job goes by the book. Whether it’s retrofitting a booster under the floor, tuning an older carb setup, or chasing electrical gremlins from a 50-year-old loom, we’ve been there before.
We work on pre-49 rods, 60s and 70s Aussie classics, American muscle, and late-model performance cars with modern drivetrains. Whether it’s Holden, Ford, Mopar or GM, we’ve built, driven and repaired them all.
If your car needs a shop that understands how to respect older metal and modern upgrades, this is it.
Build Support for Home Mechanics and DIYers
Not every client wants a full build. Some just need a hand with the hard bits and we’re good with that. We work with home builders and backyard mechanics who’ve already started their project and hit a wall.
Maybe you’ve fitted your engine but need help wiring the EFI. Maybe you’ve done the bodywork and need a hand with steering geometry or brake proportioning. Or maybe you just want someone to final-check what you’ve done before rego inspection. We’re happy to assist.
We’ll never treat you like you’re wasting our time. If you’re building it yourself, we’re here to back you up when it counts.
Booking a Service or Build with Us
Getting your car booked into Cruisin is simple. We’ll start with a chat about what you’re trying to achieve. That could be over the phone, via email or in person at the shop. If we need to see the car, we’ll book a time and give it a proper look over.
For smaller jobs, we’ll give you a timeline and estimated cost upfront. For larger projects, we can break them down into stages, from teardown to final delivery. We don’t over-promise, and we’ll keep you updated with progress throughout.
Need a detailed quote for a staged build, insurance or budgeting? Let us know and we’ll put together a proper breakdown.
Working with Interstate Clients
Not based in Perth? No problem. We work with customers from all over Australia. Cars come to us on trucks from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and regional WA. We’ve even had builds shipped from Darwin and the east coast.
We’ll organise remote consults, send photo updates and keep the communication clear. You’re never left wondering what’s going on with your car. Whether it’s a full build or a targeted repair, we treat out-of-town jobs just as seriously as local ones.
Need help with freight? We can connect you with trusted carriers or help coordinate collection and return.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I drop in for a quote?
Absolutely. We’re happy to talk cars anytime, but if it’s a complex job, booking a time ensures we can give it proper attention.
How long is the wait time for workshop bookings?
It depends on the job. Small mechanical work can usually be booked within a few weeks. Full builds may have a lead time, but we’ll always be upfront.
Do you supply the parts, or can I bring my own?
We do both. We have access to over 55 US brands, and often get better pricing and compatibility. But if you already have parts, we’re happy to inspect and install them if they meet quality standards.
Can you work with my budget?
Yes. We’re happy to scale projects to suit. From staged builds to smaller one-off repairs, we’ll help you get the best outcome within your budget.
Do you handle rego inspections or engineering sign-offs?
We offer pre-inspection checks and can work with certifiers and engineers to make sure your vehicle meets the required standards.
What if I’ve already started the build?
That’s fine. We regularly take on in-progress projects and help finish what others couldn’t.
Not Just Repairs — Full Custom Projects
We’re not just a service shop. We build full cars. If you’ve got a vision for something wild, show-quality, street-driven or track-ready, we’ll help bring it to life.
We handle:
- Ground-up hot rod builds
- Classic muscle car transformations
- Custom chassis fabrication
- Air ride and suspension upgrades
- LS and modern engine conversions
- Engine bay rewires and cleanups
- Paint, body, interior and everything in between
You don’t need to organise ten different people. You just need one team that understands the entire job and knows how to deliver results.
